The Life of Reilly: A portrait session

31 Aug

Many people may not know that I have a 6th member in my family but I do! His name is Reilly. My parents adopted him almost ten years ago and since the day that they brought him home he has loved snuggling, sniffing, and snacking. (I’m pretty sure he enjoys the latter the most!) We have many monikers for Reilly including Rei (pronounced Rye), Buddy, BuddyBoy, The Man, and my personal favorite Mr.Manny. Should you ever come to the Carroll Household and knock on the door, you will be greeted with loud barks and excited jumping (Ceasar Milan would have a conniption!) but once inside be prepared for your heart to melt with one look into Mr.Manny’s sad sack eyes. We like to think he has the “Life of Reilly” and we sure do love him a lot!

Erica Fabulous: A portrait session

27 Aug

I mentioned Miss Fabulous in an earlier post and am so excited to share the photo shoot we did together in Aldie, Va. Erica is not only a gorgeous model (the camera LOVES her) she is also a brilliant soul whose positive attitude is infectious and smile can light up any room. We had such a blast taking pictures in big fields of grass, on stone walls, next to an english telephone booth, and any other place that suited our fancy! There were so many great pictures in the set, it was hard to pick which ones I liked most! Anne was a wonderful assistant and we couldn’t have done it without her!

Bean-Town: Travel fun!

25 Aug

I would describe myself as a true blue east coast girl. I tend to be go-go-go, I’m a fast and LOUD talker, can be snarky at times, and have been loyal to the eastern U.S for as long as I can remember. The only problem…I had never been to Boston. One of the original cities in the United States, a population that is fanatical about where they live, a large emphasis on seafood, and of course the Irish. I finally got my chance to check out all things Beantown when Danny and I were invited to a friend’s wedding. The trip was classic and included a packed itinerary that included trips to the ICA, the Barking Crab, and my favorite, the Harpoon Brewery. Below are some of my favorite captures from the trip!

Erin: a portrait session

24 Aug

I love my roomate. She is fun, funny, and downright beautiful! I was so happy when Erin wanted to galavant around Georgtown with me and take some photos. Between shots we ate some yummy cupcakes and ended the day with pizza just as the sky was opening up!

Soggy Summer Saturday

23 Aug

August in D.C. is notorious for swampy, soggy weather not to mention 84% humidity. Gross! What better way to beat the heat and rain than some art, cold beer, and my best friend? I really don’t think there is one.

Good Morning

21 Aug

This past week I was lucky enough to go to NYC with my friend Erica who is being treated for stage 4 Colon Cancer at Sloan Kettering(More pics of EFab to come!) Despite going up to the city for treatment we had a ton of fun, lots of great food, and plenty of laughs! She is just the most beautiful, inspirational woman around and I can’t wait for our next trip together! Here are a few captures that I managed to get while tromping around the East Village on a hot, humid, August evening.
